Glace Yarn

Glace Yarn
GLACE YARN
A specially polished yarn which is made very hard, smooth, stiff and has a high lustre. The cotton thread is passed through a special mixture and then treated by flat brushes to lay down the fibres. As many as 360 threads are treated at one time and are wound from bobbin to bobbin in the process. The weight is increased about 15 per cent. Such fabrics as glissades, grenadines, etc., are made from these yarns.
